En effet, pendant près d'une heure, 30000 personnes se sont rassemblées dans les rues du village pour se lancer quelques 120 tonnes de tomates à la figure...
Cet "incident" aurait rapidement dégénéré pour tourner à la bataille générale de tomates pour mener à ce que nous connaissons aujourd'hui : la Tomatiña de Buñol !
Aujourd'hui, il faut environ 6 semi-remorques pour apporter suffisamment de tomates dans le village afin de "rassasier" tous les participants.
