When the EDC first approached the LaSalle borough to inform them of the results of their study, they were never able, despite numerous requests by elected officials, to indicate the methodology used to arrive at their findings.
In the new City of Montreal, park maintenance falls under the jurisdiction of the boroughs except in the case of large parks such as Mount Royal and Parc Lafontaine where it is the central city that has the responsibility.

But chairperson Manon Barbe said the borough council hired a laboratory to test soil in the four parks this summer.
Those tests results came in this week, she said, and they were reassuring enough that the borough council has decided there is no need to test other parks.

At its meeting last week, borough council announced it received a $50,000 grant from state Rep. Michael Diven for updating the outdated area, which sits on adjoining property of the borough's pool.

The program is expected to cost the borough approximately $600 in overtime for pool lifeguards.
