In the 1990s many high tech manufacturing plants and expensive housing developments began to appear in the area around the lake prompting some to refer to the area around the lake as the Silicon Forest.
At the lake's south-east side it connects with Round Lake at the SR 500 bridge.

We started out parking right at the northwestern tip of Round Lake, near the point where it is connected to the much larger Lacamas Lake, which is not inside the park.
The names of the town Camas, and of the lake Lacamas ("La Camas" or The Camas from the French at Fort Vancouver), along with the adjoining park of the same name, both come from the "camas roots" that were used by the local Indian tribes for food.
The lake is fairly large, covering 315 acres, with an average depth of 24 feet, and at one point it is 65 feet deep.

The trail also connects to the Heritage Trail alongside Lacamas Lake in Camas, Wash. The Greenway itself can include loops of up to six miles without crossing the same trail twice, however, multiple loops and other routes can add up to much more.
The loops are hilly and circumnavigate a small lake (Round Lake.) At one trailhead there is adequate parking, picnic grounds, bathrooms, while the Third Ave Trailhead is simply a trailhead with limited parking (four spaces) and is adjacent to a private residence.

And by the end of this month, the Lacamas Lake area will have another attraction: a recreational trail that stretches about 3 miles through woods and along shoreline southwest of the 315-acre lake, one-half mile north of Camas.
The lake and the nearby 300-acre Lacamas Regional Park surrounding Round Lake at the southeast tip of Lacamas Lake, draw boaters, anglers, hikers and picnickers.

I have fished out there four times this year so far and been blown off the lake and poured on every other time so the sunshine and light wind was a nice change.
It took a while to find the fish, they were pretty deep for this early in the year.

Lacamas Park is a large recreational forestland administered by a loose conglomeration of public organizations, including Clark County, Washington.
But Lacamas Park is certainly worth the trip.
