Lacuna Coil is an Italian gothic metal band formed in Milan, Italy, in 1996.
Lacuna Coil's music is inspired by gothic imagery, using melodic guitar lines, alternating heavy and light vocals, and a bit of pop influence.
Corresponding with the release of the new album, Lacuna Coil went on tour with Rob Zombie throughout North America in early 2006.

In the year 1996, Lacuna Coil (at the time called Ethereal, name that abandoned for it was already taken) sent a two track demo tape to several record labels across Europe.
The response of the public was very good and Lacuna Coil decide that due to the nature of their musical direction a second guitarist was necessary, instead of a keyboard player.
Mixing English lyrics with an occasional experience with Italian lyrics, their mother tongue, Lacuna Coil are indeed, a force to be reckoned with, a proof that Southern European countries also have a word to say when it comes to metal music.

The Half-Life EP by Lacuna Coil, released in 2000, is probably one of the more solid releases by the band that can be most commonly found as extra tracks on the 2001 release Unleashed Memories.
Overall Rating: A classic EP by a band that was exceptionally better in their early days.
This EP was good, and yes I do agree with you that they should come back to this.

The result of the promo she recorded with Lacuna Coil was a deal with international record label Century Media, and the band first entered Germany's Woodhouse Studios with producer Waldemar Sorychta in October of 1997 to record its self-titled EP.
That EP, released in March of 1998, included early Lacuna Coil classics like "This is My Dream" and "Falling," the latter of which is dedicated to a friend of the band's who passed away.
In April of that year, Lacuna Coil embarked on its first headlining tour of Europe, playing more than a dozen shows including a sold-out gig in London and another in Belfast where Ferro fell onstage and was rushed to the hospital with a dislocated shoulder.

Their are outstanding songs in each of Lacuna Coils four albums but in my opinion this album has all quality songs with no filler.
Lacuna Coil turned to him again to produce In a Reverie and this time Woodhouse Studios has given the band a sound to match their abundant talent.
Lacuna Coil is one of those bands that even when they're sound isn't polished at all it still feels perfect.

Italy’s Lacuna Coil are a strange lot whose irresistible pop sensibility somehow crossed wires with the extreme metal genre.
Lacuna Coil have never had that comfort of having a buffer album to recommend to friends unlikely pick up the album because it has a girl in it.
Settled nicely in the album’s midsection is “1:19.” Again, Lacuna Coil’s shimmering and obvious longing for a radio hit emerges, but the song’s latent grit and touching guitar acrobatics, particularly the solo, remind us that Lacuna Coil remain for the time begin a metal band.

EPs aren't something I necessarily like because it seems as though every band simply re-releases the songs from the EP onto a different CD where they, most of the time, completely redo the song.

I have a homepage about Lacuna Coil (www.lacunacoil.hpg.com.br), so the last thing I wanted in my life was a deception with my favorite band.
They may not sound like "real" Lacuna Coil songs to you, but they sure as hell do to me. Seeing them do these songs live, they fit seamlessly with their older material.

Soon after I heard the Lacuna Coil debut ep, and from this day on I think it's one of my favorite ep's.
The last song on the disc is a cover of Dubstar's "Stars." I don't even know who this band is, but the song is so beautiful, so mellow and a great way to end the disc.
I'm glad Lacuna Coil decided to go back to their original sound and I'm anxiously awaiting the next cd.

I was very impressed by their debut EP and was looking forward to this release.
This is a totally subjective view based on the fact that although both groups' music depends heavily on female vocal sound colours, 'Lacuna Coil' mix their palette with Mediterranean warmth and temperament and it so happens that I find that easier to identify with.
'Lacuna Coil' are treading the thin line between fringe and mainstream music.

The second half to this cd, The Halflife EP was released 6 months before Unleashed Memories, and hosts the original version of Senzafine, which is still amazing in its less polished form, in fact thats what gives it sparkle.
The final track on the cd "Stars" is a cover of Dubstars "Stars", which Lacuna Coil have made their own.

I am a huge Lacuna Coil fan, but this sounds more like a Soulfly record with guest vocals than anything else.
The Depeche Mode cover is the best song on it in my opinion, and even that, they didnt do that well.
