In upper Laghman there is a town named Mandror which faces the ancient, walled city of Charbagh; the city of Charbagh was famous for its armament productions in 19th century, and it is the only town in the region which has its ancient structure and bazaar.
Laghman is one of the evergreen provinces of Afghanistan.
Unfortunately due to wrong plans of the former governments and lack of budgets, Laghman did not have the prosperity of some of the other provinces of Afghanistan and was left behind its neighboring province of Nangahar.

LAGHMAN, a district of Afghanistan, in the province of Jalalabad, between Jalalabad and Kabul, on the northern side of the Peshawar road, one of the richest and most fertile tracts in Afghanistan.
The Laghman route between Kabul and India crossing the Kunar river into the Mohmand country is the route followed by Alexander the Great and Baber; but it has now been supplanted by the Khyber.

However, the best pieces seem to have been found in Laghman, and that is why in the main part of this article we limit ourselves to that province.
The three deposits that we were allowed to visit (Nilaw, Mawi, and Kurgal) are situated not far from the most important river in Laghman, the Alingar, which rises in the far north of the province and joins the Kaboul [Kabul] River in the south a few kilometers from Mehtar Lam.
The other interesting peculiarity of Laghman spodumene is its occurrence in cavities or pockets of crystals, for example one superb specimen that we could only admire: a large crystal of microcline (20 kg) on which a 15-cm crystal of transparent pink spodumene was attached.
