Lagos State is the smallest state in Nigeria, yet it has the highest population, which is over five percent of the national estimate.
In a recent UN study (1999), the city of Lagos is expected to hit the 24.5 million population mark and thus be among the ten most populous cities in the world by the year 2015.
Lagos State is inhabited by the Aworis and Ogus in Ikeja and Badagry Divisions respectively, with the Ogus being found mainly in Badagry.

The Lagos - Ibadan expressway and the Lagos - Abeokuta expressway are the major arterial routes in the city and serve as an inter-state highway to Ibadan, Oyo state and Abeokuta, Ogun State respectively.
Lagos is the centre of the famous Nigerian film industry, often referred to as 'Nollywood.' Many of the large film producers have offices in Surulere, Lagos, though there aren't any film studios in Nollywood, in the Hollywood sense.
