		LAHORE, March 5: Expressing displeasure over the continuous thin attendance at the Lahore District Council sessions, District Naib Nazim Farooq Amjad Mir on Friday ordered issuing show-cause notices to the habitual absentee members after the council failed to meet for lack of quorum.
		The District Naib Nazim adjourned the session for five minutes when one of the woman councillors pointed out that the house was not in quorum.
		The District Naib Nazim later told Dawn that notices would be issued to the members remaining absent for the past three or four or more sessions continuously.

		The scope of the strike call was extended from district level to the province level when Vice-Chairman Punjab Bar Council (PbBC) Muhammad Ramzan Chaudhry endorsed the strike call and appealed to all the Bar Associations of the province to jointly observe the strike against the proposed Special Courts.
		Later, addressing a press conference the President of Lahore Bar Association (LBA) Chaudhry Nisar Ahmad Kausar condemned the establishment of police pickets from Governor House to District Courts premises and termed the same as an attempt to malign the lawyers community.
		He said that LBA would raise issue of establishment of school in the century-old district courts building in the joint meeting of all the bar associations, Punjab Bar Council, Pakistan Bar Council, LHCBA and SCBA being held on February 15 to discuss the issue of formation of re-constituted anti terrorist courts.
