The objectives of Ecology's lake water quality assessment program are to identify lakes that are exhibiting water quality problems, to assess significant publicly-owned lakes by estimating the trophic status of monitored lakes, and to promote public awareness of lake ecology and protection.
Of the 42 lakes assessed from 1991 data, 19 were characterized as oligotrophic or oligo-mesotrophic, 13 were characterized as mesotrophic or meso-eutrophic, and 10 lakes were characterized as eutrophic.
Of the 45 lakes assessed from 1992 data, 21 were characterized as oligotrophic or oligo-mesotrophic, 17 were characterized as mesotrophic or meso-eutrophic, and seven were characterized as eutrophic.

This lake is about three miles north of Monroe, reached by taking 195th avenue north out of Monroe and going about three miles to a left fork and a right turn to the SW end of the lake.

Some 74 anglers at Lake Sixteen were checked with 3.1 trout kept per rod, and a C&R rate of 3.5, while the usual large crowd at Lake McMurray did well at average rates of 3.8 and 5.6 fish respectively, including a good percentage of 14- to 16-inch carryover trout.
