When the newly established Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture with a Forestry Division learned of Mira's forthcoming trip, the department funded an extension to her trip so she could visit and study forestry and urban arboriculture in England and on the Continent.
RESOLVED, that we recognize that the present advanced position of Pennsylvania in Forestry matters is largely due to the interest and assistance of the women of the State, and that we may always regard Miss Dock as their representative believing that her place in our meetings cannot well be taken by any other person.
She advertised in Forest Leaves(presently Pennsylvania Forests) free "lectures on forestry and village improvements, with or without lantern slides." She also volunteered to develop an exhibit on forestry to be presented in Philadelphia in May, 1913.
