Thursday, 03 July, 2003: Lake Murray landowners in Papua New Guinea have called on Malaysian logging company, Concord Pacific to stop sneaking out logs from the illegal Kiunga Aiambak project.
However, yesterday Papua New Guinea’s National Court ruled in favour of the landowners, and ordered Concord Pacific to halt all logging and road construction operations in the Kiunga Aiambak area.
No logs should leave our land, or indeed our country,” said Sep Galeva, Chairman of the Lake Murray Resource Owners.
