Lake of the Hirsel - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Lake of the Hirsel or Hirsel Lake is an artificial body of water of about 27 acres near Coldstream and the River Tweed in the Scottish Borders.
It is set in the grounds of The Hirsel, home of the Home family and of the late Sir Alec Douglas-Home.
Contrary to popular belief, the Lake of Menteith is not the sole "lake" in Scotland, but the only natural one.

in origin and is applied to most lakes in Scotland and to many sea inlets in the west and north of Scotland.
It is also applied to lakes and bays in Ireland.
Scotland has only one natural water body actually called a lake, the Lake of Menteith, an Anglicisation of the Scots Laich o Menteith meaning a "low-lying bit of land in Menteith", and applied to the loch there because of the similarity of the sounds of the words laich and lake.

The only means I have of forming an opinion here is in the case of a field, the Lake field, twenty acres -- low-lying flat alluvial land -- which was partly sown with seed supplied by a local seedsman, and partly supplied by one of the most eminent seedsmen in England.
In 1903 1 enclosed two plots of eighteen feet square in each seedsman's portion of the field, and, after letting the grass grow as if for a hay crop, had it cut and taken direct to the weighing machine.

Bob, Not to rain on an otherwise good section of our society, but some in your profession "Journalists" have shown that they can not be trusted with information.
If a "CSI" or the Chief of Police or someone chosen to represent him tells the press something and then asks that it not be let out yet, this should be the way it is, but there is always some ass who has to be the scoop and get the "news" out first.
If the media industry as a whole in all methods, print, radio and tv clean house and get all of the trashy people out, then maybe the police will trust reporters again.

Consisting of several sites, the Inca settlement near Lake Titicaca extended for about 10 square kilometres at an altitude between 3 000m and 4 000m, said Ivo Bartecek, a Czech specialist in Ibero-American studies.
