The people of Ontario, the parents and the students, are entitled to be assured that all teachers are continuing with their professional learning programs, not to mention the waste of the cancellation of the program -- about $600,000 at least in lost leasing costs alone.

Peter Murphy, President of the Brampton Historical Society introduced other members of the organization who were present this evening, and provided a brief background on the society which was formed in 1998.
Peter Murphy reported that an original historical map of the town of Brampton from 1857 was given to the Brampton Historical Society, and that it is known to be the oldest map of its kind for the City.
In December 2000 the Society received a Trillium grant to be used for the conservation of this map, with the understanding that it would be used for education of students and the general public, and that poster-size reproductions would be made.

Arising from Item 20.7 - Letter from the Minister of Culture in response to the Chair's letter re Changes to the Public Libraries Act, a Board Member noted that municipalities "may decide to continue" to appoint school board representation on their public library boards, although this is no longer required by the Public Libraries Act.

BRAMPTON – On June 18 Regional Councillor Elaine Moore and City Councillor Grant Gibson are offering free shuttle service for people to enjoy the City’s downtown for the opening of the Brampton Farmers’ Market, Pancake Breakfast, Touism Brampton, Folk Festival and Flower City Parade.
The free shuttle will leave Homestead Public School, on Fletcher’s Creek Boulevard, and the Lakelands Sales Office, on Lakeland Drive, at 9 a.m.
People using the shuttle bus will receive a complimentary bus ticket from Brampton Transit in the event they wish to remain downtown past 4:30 p.m.
