RAF Lakenheath is a USAFE base located only a few minute's drive from RAF Mildenhall, West of the A1065 between Mildenhall and Brandon, around 12 miles North-East of Newmarket in Suffolk.
Lakenheath has eased up somewhat since but the road through the base has been closed permanently as has the Southern end of footpath near the 06 end.
Lakenheath is normally completely dead at weekends and in the evenings; indeed they sometimes place obstructions on the runway at weekends to make sure it stays that way!
