In the tale of the crow (Greek "korone") and Koronis ("Crow-maiden"), the coincidence of names suggests another story-pattern: in some versions, perhaps Koronis was turned into a crow, or the bird was named after the maiden.
Apollo sent Artemis to Lakereia and Lake Boibias in southeastern Thessaly, where Phlegyas was king (the exact location of Lakereia, to the north of Lake Boibias, is uncertain).
Pindar explains that Koronis rashly brought destruction upon many of her neighbors, but does not specify the fate of Ischys, who in some versions is also killed.
