Hillel Laks, Cardiothoracic Surgery [UCLA Spotlight]
Laks is known for taking on the most challenging cases and looking for new ways to help solve old problems.

Currently, he is collaborating on projects that include the artificial heart and cardiac assist devices, robotic and minimally invasive surgery and the prevention of cardiac rejection by gene therapy, organ preservation and valve repair for congenital heart disease.

At first glance it's hard to distinguish the Memory Music from a regular analogue watch, but upon closer inspection you'll notice that there are audio settings on the clock face and a USB 1.1 port that is nearly hidden in the fl plastic strap.
Laks' Memory Music is probably the only wearable computing device we've seen that we'd actually step out of the office with without fear of ridicule.
Laks has attempted to get around this by adding LED indicators to the clock face to indicate active audio modes, but the system is a little fiddly and you'll likely have to refer to the user manual until you become familiar with the intricacies of operating the player.

A letter from Aleksander Tansman on the occaision of the Polish Institute's recognition of Szymon Laks
Szymon Laks was deported to a concentration camp, where he was only able to save his life because the Nazis enjoyed music.
His discretion seemed to be the distinctive mark of a musician who is apparently reluctant to attract attention either to himself or to his art, though the little that I know of him and his work serves to tame and make charming even the most severe forms of pure music.
The typescript of this letter is found in the Szymon Laks Correspondence donated to the Polish Music Center by Andre Laks, the composer's son.
