This quiet little street of the upper town bears the name of the wife of a lord from the 15th century who ruled over Landrecies.
It is said that Jeanne de Lallaing proved to be a true benefactress for the distressed people of Landrecies during the Hundred Years War.
This street was the former southeast border of the castle.

The company was created in the city of Treves in October 1473 (ordonance de St. Maxim de Treves).
The command of the company was in the capable hands of Josse de Lallaing.
