Also, gloucester road tube station is on of the better stops since you can connect to multiple lines (including Piccadilly line which takes you to heathrow in about 40 minutes) so your group of 4 can negotiate your way from airport to hotel on the cheap and easy.
If the teens are under 18, they can ride the tube and bus anywhere in London for £0.80 on a Family Day Travelcard.
The Days Inn Waterloo mentioned above is not a terrible place but it is not near anything except the Imperial War Museum.
