Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary (1998) with pictures and wallpapers
The Lamborghini Countach was a supercar produced by Lamborghini in Italy.
All Lamborghini Countach's were equipped with six Weber carburetors until the arrival of the 5000QV model, at which time the car became available in America, and used Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection.
The standard emblems ("lamborghini" and "Countach") were kept at the rear, but an angular "S" emblem was added after the "Countach" on the right side.

It was known for its upward opening doors that have remained a Lamborghini trademark to this day.
Lamborghini's goal for the Countach was to create a 200 MPH supercar but that goal was never attained due to the Countach's horrible drag coefficient.
The fastest countach, the 5000 QV, reached 0-60 in 4.9 seconds and had a top speed of 182 MPH.

 Lamborghini Countach History
The Countach was developed under the leadership of chief engineer Paolo Stanzani, although some technical background came from Miura, which was penned by Giampaolo Dallara (the famous chassis expert for Formula 3).
Ferruccio Lamborghini was born in 1916 under the Zodiac sign of Taurus, his parents were farmers but Ferruccio soon decided he wanted to do something with mechanics.
Ferruccio Lamborghini decided it was time to start a new business and the Grand Turismo cars seemed like a good idea, so he built a completely new factory at Sant'Agata and started building probably the best GT cars of that time.

Earlier, the car's engine was removed and transformed into a "200-mph coffee table" for guests who prefer their drinks "shaken not stirred," said Moriarty, an heir to the family that developed South Coast Plaza.
Getting the Lamborghini into the house took about an hour, but the project was conceived months ago, when architect Fleetwood Joiner began designing Moriarty's new home, US$2-million worth of steel-and-concrete that will overlook Newport's Back Bay when construction finishes later this year.
As Moriarty's fiancée, auto mechanic, architect and several friends snapped photos with cellphones and cameras, the car was hoisted 60 feet in the air by the crane.

 Lamborghini Countach - Articles
Reversing a Countach in a confined space is a minor nightmare, and the preferred technique seems to be to open the door and sit on the sill.
At times in the past Lamborghini's standards of finish were perhaps not as high as might be wished, but now, with greater financial security, a new atmosphere of confidence in the factory, excellent working conditions and very well developed product, those standards have risen considerably.
The Countach is as beautiful close up as it is from the other side of the street, and the panel fits are particularly impressive.

The amazing Lamborghini Countach is as unusual now as it was when it made its prototype bow at the 1971 Geneva Show.
Choosing between the Lamborghini and one of its natural rivals, the Ferrari Berlinetta Boxer, is a prime example of how such a decision depends on an individual’s requirements and taste.
As the Ferrari importers said there was something wrong with the Boxer that we tested, and the Countach test car was short of miles and therefore perhaps still a bit stiff, the case continues to rest until both companies offer Autocar fully representative cars for the final test.

Not luxury cars (no power windows and minimal interior comforts), and not racing machines, Lamborghini's are about power and speed, and the Countach is easily one of the most recognized of all cars.
The reason the Countach was successful was because it was very easy on the eye and it had great performance.
The first series of Countach's were known as the LP400 followed by the LP400S in 1978.

By 1986, the Countach was again exported to the United States, special 'crash' bumpers were installed to front and rear, and a new Bosch KE-Jetronic fuel injection was used instead of the Weber carburetors, to meet demands by the DOT and EPA regulations.
The Countach does not suffer from aerodynamic lift at high speeds, so the rear wing only adds drag, a lot of cost (it was still an expensive option at about US $ 5000) and most important, a lower top speed.
The Countach Quattrovalvole's built before 1987, so those without the sills and cars without the massive rear wing, are believed to be the best looking Countach ever.

Early cars were plagued by water leaks, rust and terrible heat soak from the massive, mid-engined V12, while later examples suffered the aesthetic indignity of a Halfords-style bolt-on body kit, including a ludicrous, and wholly unnecessary, rear wing.
