It is very close to the shore of Lake Huron and is part of the municipality of Lambton Shores and the county of Lambton.
In 1996, the year of the last national census before Forest became part of the municipality of Lambton Shores, the town had a population of 3020.
Recreational facilities include an enclosed arena/community center with baseball and soccer fields, a lawn bowling club, public tennis courts and an agricultural society with grounds used for a fall fair and occasional campsites.

The accused was released to reappear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Sarnia, Ontario at a later date.
Lambton OPP are still witnessing a disturbing trend in the number of impaired drivers that are on the roadways of Lambton County.

Finally, in 1835 the William Howden family decided to migrate to Toronto, Ontario (Ontario at that time was a part of Quebec and known as Upper Canada, and later Canada West, and finally it was named Ontario).
There was no agricultural census in Lambton County in that year, however the 1861 Census of Warwick, Lambton County found William Howden (age 85) and his wife Jane (age 75), along with their son John (age 30).

Levi lived in Summit County, Ohio until he was sixteen when he worked in farming for three years before becoming a shoemaker which he did for twelve years.
