The LAMI was a multidisciplinary group mostly oriented toward hardware development and applications: microprocessor systems, sensor subsystems, autonomous mobile robots.
The LAMI has stopped his activities due to to the departure of Prof Nicoud, who devotes now his time to DIDEL, a company he created in 1972, but froze when he preferred to be professor at EPFL.
The project has not be accepted, but 25 students have agreed to spend their summer 1999 at the LAMI, to work on solutions that could be applied to the robots to be developed for the Expo.01.

Eugène Lami first studied painting with Horace Vernet, who in 1817 sent him to study with Baron Antoine-Jean Gros at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts.
Lami's paintings of military subjects caught the attention of royalty and he quickly established ties to the French court.
At this point, Lami began to concentrate on court life, painting scenes of the bourgeoisie.

LAMI J AND THE AFRICAN PRIDE have decided to use the later part of 2004 and the whole of 2005 to promote their music worldwide and acquire international recognition status for the band.
Lami J do play in various functions almost every saturday afternoon and night i.e wedding receptions and house warming etc. He is currently playing every Friday night at the Unity Centre, 29 Isaac John street, Ikeja.
Lami J is fast emerging in the forefront of contemporary African music, rich in the traditions of the continent with his sensational danceable rhythms but cosmopolitan in attitude.
