  Lamorbey
Lamorbey was originally spelt Lamienby, which briefly became corrupted to Lamb Abbey (hence Abbeyhill Park) before settling down to its current form.
With the proximity of Sidcup station the village began to grow in the latter decades of nineteenth century and the parish of Holy Trinity was created in 1878.
Lamorbey’s population almost doubled in 1902 when the Greenwich and Deptford children’s homes opened on the site of Marrowbone Hall with accommodation for 587 children and over 60 staff.

This website is brought to you by the funds raised from donations kindly given by people who have enjoyed both the sites, and those connected to The Hollies and Lamorbey Children’s Homes.

Christian O'Mahoney and Dave Brupbacher opened the batting for the Park and the scene was set for the day when, with 2 runs on the board Bru was trapped LBW for 1 by a ball that rose no more than an inch off the deck after pitching short of a length.
Paul Moss and Craig Partridge were set with the unenviable task of keeping the Lamorbey batsmen below the 150 and whilst Craig took a couple of overs to get into his stride, Mossy was straight on the spot giving the bastmen nothing.
Paul made the initial breakthrough holding onto to a fery difficult one handed (juggled) caught and bowled to dismiss the threatening Heave with the score on 9.

At a public inquiry, Bexley Council and Lamorbey Residents Association told planning inspector Robert Maxwell the college's plans for new two and three-storey teaching space would spoil the views of historic Lamorbey Park and tantalising glimpses of the Grade II listed Lamorbey mansion through the parkland trees.
The council accepted some of the buildings needed to go, but said the college's proposals were too big, too intrusive and would mean paving some parkland for parking space.
Granting the college's appeal, Mr Maxwell said it would be more appropriate for the new college buildings to reflect the design of the new Rose Theatre at the college than to adopt an approach which would spread out the teaching blocks.

However, Blackfen was also surrounded by great estates such as Lamorbey, Danson and Blendon with their grand houses and rich residents.
