Lamorna (Cornish: Nansmornow) is a small fishing village on the Penwith peninsula in Cornwall, United Kingdom.
The pub is the subject of a novel by Martha Grimes, entitled "The Lamorna Wink".
Stone from the cove was also used to construcut the nearby church of St Buryan, whose 92 foot wrought granite tower is an imposing local landmark often used as a line of sight by fisherman coming into port.

Houghton Emily Birch, the wife of S.J. Lamorna Birch, was an occasional exhibitor as a landscape painter.
However the years 1910 to 1913 had seen a decline in John's artistic fortune, and in Cornwall painted a portrait of Lamorna Birch, but his work in there was deemed to be of minor consequence.
She was the elder daughter of S.J. Lamorna Birch, by whom she was taught.

The Lamorna Society was formed in September 1997 following the successful retrospective of Lamorna Birch's work at the Falmouth Art Gallery.
The broad aim of the Society is to promote appreciation of the Lamorna Valley in West Cornwall, its art, literature, social and natural history, and to foster interest in the lives and work of the many artists associated with this area.
The Society's magazine, The Flagstaff, is published twice a year with feature articles, news and views, letters, etc. An archive of relevant material has been set up to preserve the rich heritage of this creative valley.
