J2 Communications completed its $4.7 million purchase of National Lampoon Inc. on Oct. 25, and decided to keep the offices of the adult humor magazine in New York rather than move them to Los Angeles and closer to J2's video operations.
The decision to keep National Lampoon in New York is in sharp contrast to an announcement by J2 Communications in March that the company intended to create a "comedy fortress" by moving the magazine and video creative staffs into the same building.
Lampoon shareholders exchanged each share of Lampoon stock for two-thirds of a J2 share and a warrant to purchase an additional J2 stock at a price of $3.25 per share.

I have watched a fair few 'National Lampoon' movies in my time and the one thing that is guaranteed is that there are no guarantees.
Some are hilarious, others make you wonder who looked at the script and thought 'let's make this movie.' The plot, such as it is, is far better suited to a sketch show.
