		Priapos' Statuen, ausgestattet mit einem gewaltigen, erigierten Glied, meist aus Holz und rot bemalt, sollten in Obst- und Weingärten als Glücksbringer eine reichhaltige Ernte garantieren, wie eine Vogelscheuche wirken oder Diebe verschrecken.
