Star Fox: Assault is a missed opportunity for the developers to resurrect the series, which means you probably should give this a miss too.
If it was ten solid levels of proper Star Fox space combat delivered with the same degree of glorious detail and a challenge that rose from the promising double boss-fight climax of the second section to the kind of crescendo Star Fox reached at its peak then they would fit like silk gloves.
Star fox is ok in all, but i could not find a computer mode in the multiplayer section.

Occasionaly, on the Arwing, you will go to full-range mode, similar to Star Fox 2, but the Arwing is not the only ship you get to drive, as you also got the Landmaster tank, which let's you do ground missions, and the Aqua-Marine, a submarine that let's go to an underwater world.
The original Star Fox gameplay gone next-gen. From the space battles, driving the tank, piloting a submarine, or just flying in the Arwing, it's all done to perfection.

Throughout the game Fox McCloud and the rest of Team StarFox find themselves jumping around from planet to planet in the search of the key to stop the Aparoids, which also has the effect of driving forward the storyline, something that it has to be said is not needed to make a great StarFox game.
As previously mentioned the action is split up in to three different sections: in air, on land, and on foot, and whilst each of those different forms of movement should in theory provide players with a different experience, the fact is that they fail to achieve this in spectacular fashion.
All of the vehicles react and move in the same way – even the bipedal Fox runs around in exactly the same manner as the tank to the extent that he feels almost robotic and definitely artificial.
