		Thirty-three years ago, Lani Hall began a spectacular run as lead singer with the immensely popular Sergio Mendes and Brasil '66.
		Hall, who's married to trumpet magician Herb Alpert of Tijuana Jazz fame, possesses one of those rare voices.
		Hall does a simply great job on the familiar "Mas Que Nada," in a more reserved rhythm than previous versions.

	Lani Hall
		Lani Hall first came to be known to the public at large when she joined the second Brasil project of Bossa Nova master Sergio Mendes, Brasil '66.
		Much of the song's appeal was due to the distinctive, multi-tracked vocals of Hall (who, being at the time a non-Portuguese speaker, had to learn the lyrics phonetically).
		Apart from occasional appearances on Alpert's records, Hall retired from recording after 1985, concentrating instead on raising her daughter.
