The landfill, located 1 mile east of the Village of Metamora, in Metamora Township, Lapeer County, Michigan, operated from 1966 to 1980, accepting municipal and drummed industrial wastes.
Michigan Department of Public Health (MDPH) personnel, escorted by MDNR personnel, visited the site on June 28 and July 30, 1990.
In response to the comment regarding naturally occurring arsenic in groundwater in the general geographic area, the public health assessment was revised to reflect this circumstance.
