 Three Years by Anton Chekhov:
Laptev, still standing with his hat in his hand, began apologising for disturbing him; he asked what was to be done to make his sister sleep at night, and why she was growing so thin; and he was embarrassed by the thought that he had asked those very questions at his visit that morning.
Laptev was afraid to go home with her, foreseeing an unpleasant discussion, cutting words, and tears, and he suggested that they should go and have tea at a restaurant.
Laptev did not remember what he had said, but it was clear to him that it was not his words that were hateful, but the fact of his meddling in the conversation at all.

Seasonal and interannual variabilities of ice drift in the Laptev Sea and ice exchange with the Arctic Ocean during the period from 1979 to 1995 were studied with a large-scale dynamic-thermodynamic sea ice model.
During an "average year" sea ice was exported from the Laptev Sea through its northern and eastern boundaries, with maximum and minimum export occurring in February and August, respectively.
Magnitude and direction of ice export from the Laptev Sea corresponded with the large-scale Arctic Ocean drift patterns during periods of prevailing cyclonic or anticyclonic circulation.
