Tehran, Iran, Aug. 14 — At least 23 people were killed after a bus collided with a truck on a stretch of highway in the southern province of Fars, state television reported Sunday night.
The head of Iran’s traffic police Brigadier General Mohammad Rouyanian announced in June that the expected death toll from accidents on Iran’s highways for the current year stood at 31,000.
Iran's highways are considered to be among the most dangerous in the world, with some 100,000 road-accident deaths occurring in the last five years, the equivalent of three deaths an hour.

In an article published in the Philatelist of March 1961, the picture of two Lar stamps were published showing both inscription, but in the same article, Dr. Dadkhah rejected both stamps as forgeries.
After a close inspection of this cover including the ink and shape of the postmarks, I came to a conclusion that without a doubt the postmark tying the stamp to the cover is indeed matching the characteristics of the known genuine postmarks.
The cover was sent, as dated on the reverse, on 12th of Safar-al-Mozaffar of 1327 (5th March 1909) from Seyyed Abdullah-ibn-al-Aziz (with his seal on the flap).
