DALLAS -- The U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) today announced it is imposing $78,600 in fines against a Laredo construction company because it failed to provide its employees with adequate protection and training for the dangers of cave-ins and other hazardous conditions.
OSHA's Corpus Christi area office began an investigation Feb. 20 during a planned inspection at the company's worksite on Interstate Highway 359E in Laredo.
Closner Construction Co., headquartered in Laredo, specializes in highway road construction and employs about 65 workers¾four were at the worksite.
