Corso Vittorio Emanuele runs west from the Gesù, opening out eventually onto Largo di Torre Argentina, a good-sized square frantic with traffic circling around the ruins of four (Republican-era) temples and the channel of an ancient public lavatory, now home to a thriving colony of cats.
This is not generally open to the public, but there's not a lot to see here - it's more a place to wait for a bus than to deliberately linger.
On the far side of the square, the Teatro Argentina was in 1816 the venue for the first performance of Rossini's Barber of Seville, not a success at all on the night: Rossini was apparently booed into taking refuge in Bernasconi's pastry shop which used to be next door.

(Via di S. Eustachio, 15) In the same street, there is this laboratory, where they work on metals (mainly silver) and stones: if you are in the nearbies, go and have a look.
