Larrie Londin’s backbeat, and Neal’s guitar work is cool, too.
I really think that Neal Schon’s guitar solo is “heartfelt,” and Larrie Londin’s drumming and Randy Jackson’s bass guitar work on the backbeat is cool.
It’s too dragged-out, although, I think that Steve Smith is a better drummer than Larrie Londin is. The overall feel of this tune is very sensual though.

Keyboardist John Hobbs is a new addition to the band, and session ace Eddie Bayers is now playing drums -- filling in for Larrie Londin, who died of a heart attack in 1992.
Londin is sorely missed, but his drum set was placed in the studio during the sessions, and he's actually featured on the album's closing track, "Let It Roll, Let It Ride (Reprise)," which begins with Londin's pounding rhythms originally recorded for Crowell's "Stars on the Water."
Londin's reputation was such that he became a magnet in attracting great musicians to the band, Crowell explains.

First, Ross Valory and Steve Smith were fired from the band, against the wishes of manager Herbie Herbert.
The two were replaced by various studio musicians for the recording of Raised on Radio, including Randy Jackson (bass) and Larrie Londin (drums).
Smith did record two tracks with Journey on the album.

But it isn't the players who made the record; it's Bare's inspirational performance on no less than eight songs by Silverstein, Larry Wilkerson's "Finger on the Button," and a better version of the "The Gambler" than Kenny Rogers could have ever dreamed of cutting.
Why Bare didn't strike pay dirt with his version is beyond the point of reason, because in the grain of his voice it feels like a story being told almost in the present tense, and accurate as a reading by someone who believes he has received life-saving advice from a ghost.
