| | Lars Frederiksen and the Bastards - Viking (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-20) |
 | | So it was extremely heartening when Lars and his Bastards produced their self-titled debut and it turned out to be absolutely terrific. |
 | | Curiously, however, violence is given a huge amount of prominence, with songs like 'Mainlining Murder' (in which he informs a former love of his intention to, well, murder her), 'Switchblade' (featuring the perenially irritating Rob Aston), 'Fight', and 'Gods of War' all simmering with pent-up aggression. |
 | | Lars reveals himself as the 'Viking' (he's Danish, remember?) in the closing track by the same name, in truly one of the most cringe-worthy ditties ever recorded ("I've been up, I've been down, but one thing I know - I'm married to the sea"). |
