La Paz Agreement, is the area 100 kilometers (62.5 miles) on either side of the 3,200 km (2,000 mile) boundary between the two countries.
In Texas, the border region is a unique area ranging from the sister cities of El Paso and Ciudad Juárez, to the Gulf of Mexico, near the sister cities of Brownsville and Matamoros.
The Texas border environment is also affected by rapid industrial growth and increases in population on the Mexican side of the border, particularly in cities bordering Texas.

GUADALUPE GARCÍA, JOSÉ DE José (also called Abrán or Abraham) de Guadalupe García, soldier, son of Jesús and María García, was born in San Pedro de las Colonias, Chihuahua, in 1836.
In 1872 García enlisted in Lt. Manuel Bau's Company X of the Texas Ranger Minute Men in Maverick County and served in the Mexican border area, fighting Indians and bandits.
