The Gardens at the Las Vegas Springs Preserve, previously called the Desert Demonstration Gardens, (8 acres) are desert botanical gardens located at 3701 West Alta Drive, Las Vegas, Nevada.
American traveler John C. Fremont camped at the springs in 1844, but the springs stopped flowing to the surface in 1962 as the water table dropped as more water was pumped out to meet the demands of a growing population.
The Las Vegas Springs Preserve consists of 180 acres dedicated to nature walks and displays, in addition to the garden; these additional areas are expected to open in 2007.

The Outlaws tied the New York/New Jersey Hitmen for the second-worst record in the league at 4-6 and received a mixed reception from the community.

 Las Vegas Outlaws - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Las Vegas Outlaws were a team in the short-lived XFL in the Western Division with the Los Angeles Xtreme, San Francisco Demons and the Memphis Maniax, they played their home games at Sam Boyd Stadium.
Among the team's players were the XFL's most well-known, Rod Smart (later with the National Football League's Philadelphia Eagles, Carolina Panthers, when he appeared in the super bowl, and currently, the Oakland Raiders), who went by the nickname of "He Hate Me", which appeared on the back of his jersey.
Coached by former Boise State and Scottish Claymores head coach Jim Criner, The Outlaws competed in the XFL's only season, held in the spring of 2001.

The Outlaws spotted the the A's a 7 run lead after just half an inning but climbed back to take a 15-13 lead going into the 9th inning only to see it slip away.
In the bottom of the 9th Zach Jellsey and Justin Golden lead off with hits but that was all the Outlaws could muster as the A's held on to hold back the Outlaws from their first trophy.
Sunday was also good as the Outlaws finished in first place and knocked off their rival Isotopes to make it to the championship.

A representative of the Las Vegas Outlaws had called to ask Denton if he would be interested in watching Thursday's practice then completing a few passing drills.
The Outlaws lost starting quarterback Ryan Clement for a minimum of one week when he separated his shoulder after being hit last Sunday by Memphis Maniax defensive end Shante Carter.
Clements, the first player chosen by the Outlaws in the draft, underwent arthroscopic surgery today and will miss the rest of the season.

The Outlaws were one of the premier teams of the XFL in its only season, but sadly they finished the season at 4-6.
The major downfall for the team was being defeated three straight times by the Los Angeles Xtreme (the Xtreme defeated the Outlaws 32-29 in a closed preseason slugout); after that the team ran out of steam and failed to qualify for the postseason playoffs.
When I talked with defensive coordinator Mark Criner at the end of the season, he told me that the primary focus of the coaching staff during the draft was for defensive players, and in the second season they would then begin drafting and building offensive players.

It was passed unanimously by the Las Vegas City Council as part of a bill making it a misdemeanor to go to the bathroom in public.

They said the XFL hired someone to ensure there would be wagering on their games, and to assure Vegas books it would be on the up and up.....
They asked him last week about the rule of not putting up odds on Las Vegas teams and he stated that Pro teams aren't under the same rules in Nevada as college.
He mentioned that they don't post any Nevada lines when they are asked by the league in question not to, but the XFL apparently approached the books and asked them to put up the lines for all games.

We are now fortunate to have a new team in Vegas, and last year's support of the Las Vegas GLADIATORS showed that we can support football here, even if it is Arena League- Vegas people are proud of their teams, and the Gladiators will be here for awhile...
I have decided to keep this website live, for historical reasons; for this WAS exciting football for me, a fan of the Las Vegas Outlaws, and for many others who loved the game of football.
