Outline District Profile The district of Lasbela derives its name from the words LAS which signifies a plain, the greater part of the area being a flat plain, and Bela, the principle town of the district. The population of Lasbela district was 68,189 in 1951, 90,826 in 1961, 134,717 in 1972 and 188,139 in 1981.
