Utilizing Hip Hop and samples that were manipulated live, along with elements of Jazz and Rock, and featuring one of the most impossibly gifted rhythm sections on the planet, Soul Coughing produced three stellar albums (Ruby Vroom, Irresistible Bliss and El Oso) and toured relentlessly.
Some of the material on the album was written nearly 10 years ago, intended to be a part of Soul Coughing's astonishing 1994 debut, Ruby Vroom, but jettisoned when it didn't quite dovetail with the rest of the album.

"One Man Parade" starts right in and never lets up; he sounds like he was standing while singing for the very first time.
One Man Dog follows that process to its conclusion as it sticks in the mind as a single entity, resisting initial efforts to break it down or categorize it in any particular way.
"Chili Dog" is perhaps his most successful attempt at humor yet ("I ain't trying to fool youse/Don't bring on no Orange Julius") while "Fool For You" and "Woh, Don't You Know," the album's two rock and roll companion pieces, sound forced by comparison.

He had been her agent at the start of her rise to fame in the ’60s, and by the time she wrote “Free Man in Paris,” he owned the record label for which she (along with the Eagles, Jackson Browne and Dylan) was recording.
Hearing “Free Man in Paris” wafting out of Mitchell’s studio, Feliciano recognized it as something that fit nicely with his own style.

His first album, 1995's Ben Folds Five (Caroline), was also full of wonderful songs: "Philosophy" and "Where's Summer B.?" Live, he transforms the usually stodgy piano into a rockin' good time in the manner of Jerry Lee Lewis, kicking it, standing on it and just generally having a ball.
But for all that, Ben Folds himself is truly the anti-Korn, a man whose music is unmarred by the taint of Sonic Youth.

Blood Sweat & Tears' Child is Father to the Man
Child is Father to the Man is not only one of the finest jazz/rock hybrids, it is one of the finest records of the late '60s, standing up along side the Rolling Stones' Beggar's Banquet, the Beatles' White Album, the Velvet Underground self titled, Van Morrison’s Astral Weeks and Dylan's John Wesley Harding.
Child is Father to the Man is one of the most original, eclectic, and brilliant recordings to come out of late-'60s rock and '70s fusion.
BS&T's debut, Child is Father to the Man, didn't feature Clayton-Thomas, nor did it spawn any hits, yet its remarkable influence—due primarily to Al Kooper—opened the door not only for the latter day BS&T but also for such '70s pop/rock/jazz mavericks as Steely Dan and early Chicago.

Tower Records - Vivo - Luis Miguel
There's so much myth surrounding Latin pop star Luis Miguel--a man who rubbed shoulders with Sinatra, and can't turn around without winning an award--that it's hard to imagine him standing on a stage interacting with a real, live audience.
VIVO was nominated for the 2001 Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album, for the 2001 Latin Grammy Award for Best Male Pop Vocal Album.
The music moves mostly from lightly grooving Latin pop/R&B to lushly romantic numbers, and Miguel's singing is inevitably consistent, as he wraps the crowd around his little finger.
