		Without wishing to be unkind, maybe her decision to accept my invitation to the concert was partly a way of playing down the rumours after all, I was no serious competition, but of course, I was secretly praying that the spirit of Leonard's song would rectify this situation.
		When the song's finished Holland reappears to say "Great poet, songwriter Leonard Cohen", and closes the show by thanking all the artists one by one, during audience applause for whom Cohen can be heard to add gravelly cheers, especially for Aztec Camera, and "Ian", Jools Holland's piano.

		It took many artists to reach to my last favourite performance on this DVD which came from R.E.M. I really respect this band and having to listen to a live version of "Country Feedback" was quite a pleasant experience.
		Once again I feel the need to say that shows like Jools are really important to music - I only hope that one day we will get to see more representatives of the heavy sound in a similar DVD collection.

		The Later series with Jools Holland has become very popular over the last ten years and in many ways picks up from where the Old Grey Whistle Test left off combining live studio performances and interviews all skilfully handled and presented by Jools Holland.
		These two DVD releases are an excellent cross section of just some of the many artists who have appeared on the programme and a more eclectic bunch of performers it would be hard to find.
		As ever with the performances on the Later programme the artists seem to be able to lift their performances just a little and I think that maybe it has to do with the fact that the artists are all together in the same room and everyone is aware of playing in front of their contemporaries.
