Latino USA is heard on 139 stations in 31 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico.
Latino USA is one of 31 programs distributed by NPR, whose overall audience has grown substantially over the past five years, from 13 to 21 million listeners - a gain of 56 percent.
Latino USA staff will also attend the National Association of Hispanic Journalists conference on June 26-28 and the annual gathering of the National Council of La Raza, to be held in Austin in mid-July.

In our annual Latino Youth Recognition Day program on Friday, June 15th at 7pm at Fenway Park the City of Springfield would be joining several other public school systems in the special festivities that El Mundo Newspaper coordinates and executes in partnership with the Boston Red Sox at historic Fenway Park.

Singer and Suro looked at the 100 largest metropolitan areas in 2000 and charted the change in the Latino (also called Hispanic) population in those areas from 1980 to 2000.
At the same time, 51 urban areas that have historically had small Latino communities are now seeing dramatic rates of Latino growth, said Suro, who added that they tend to be cities where jobs are booming and populations are growing overall.
In some metropolitan areas, said Singer, Latinos are settling overwhelmingly in the suburbs, rather than in central cities.

On May 23, 1999, Américo Paredes was honored at a memorial service held at the University of Texas at Austin where he was Professor Emeritus.
