The d20 system dont really fit in with the world of warhammer which is a grim but wacky world and thus this should be reflected in the rules.

The problem with making a film out of Warhammer or Warhammer 40,000 is that both universes are settings, not stories.
It's difficult to illustrate key events without creating characters who can be empathised with rather than being gods, and that would necessarily diminish the stature these legendary characters (Sigmar, Emperor, Primarchs) have within their universes.
