"Laundry" means "I'm going to Bermuda." Cause think about it, you're bringing the clothes you're wearing down to the laundry room too, but they keep on being clothes, man! I think the clothes you're wearing probably hate the clothes in the laundry, too.
Hence why laundry can become clothes again, if the actions associated with 'laundry' are not being acted upon said 'laundry' then the items are in fact 'clothes' and not 'laundry'.
