		Claim to Fame: Laurel Hollow (1997 population 1,766, in 2.9 square miles), is the home of the 107-acre Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, an internationally recognized genetic and cancer research center that is on the National Register of Historic Places.
		We have been advised by the Nassau County Department of Health that, in an effort to limit the spread of terrestrial rabies, the NYS Department of Health and USDA Wildlife Officers will be distributing raccoon oral rabies vaccination bait, by helicopter, in our area between September 27th and 30th, weather permitting.

		In land area, the largest part of the district is not in Cold Spring Harbor, but in Lloyd Harbor and Laurel Hollow.
