Sednica Skupštine gradske opštine Lazarevac započela je minutom ćutanja povodom smrti gradonačelnika Grada Beograda gospodina Nenada Bogdanovića.
Predsednik gradske opštine Lazarevac Branko Borić, zajedno sa predsednicima još deset opština Kolubarskog i Mačvanskog okruga, opština Obrenovac i Barajevo, potpisao je 25.
Zamenica gradonačelnika Beograda Radmila Hrustanović, ambasador Kraljevine Norveške Haakon Blankeborg i Jasenko Lazović, član Gradskog veća i predsednik Gradskog saveta za zapošljavanje posetili su juče opštinu Lazarevac.

The Municipality of Lazarevac covers an area of 38,351 hectares, which is inhabited by a population of around 62,000.
The settlement of Lazarevac emanated from the village of Šopić (nowadays, a suburb of Lazarevac), which was, in 1882, pronounced the township and the seat of the district and, in 1889, the expanding settlement got the name of Lazarevac.
The Municipality was formed in 1957, as a municipality within the District of Valjevo, and it has been within the community of Belgrade municipalities since 1971.

Radio Lazarevac said some 800 policemen, and an unspecified number of soldiers, stayed about 100 yards from the building and did not intervene.
The radio also reported many citizens of Lazarevac were heading for the Tamnava mines, and that it was uncertain if they would manage to pass through barricades set up by police along the approach road.
Beta reported that Kostunica would stop off in Lazarevac later Wednesday on his way to Nis where he is scheduled to address a DOS rally.

LAZAREVAC, Yugoslavia (Reuters) - Serbian police ordered striking workers out of a strategic coal mine on Wednesday in an attempt to break the most serious of the wave of protests against President Slobodan Milosevic, workers said.
Police had earlier swooped on the mine near the town of Lazarevac, entering the administrative building through a blockade made up of dredging machines, trucks and cranes.
An editor at Radio Lazarevac said around 100 police had entered the mine itself but that there were around 800 others waiting outside, as well as some troops.

The flag of Lazarevac is white with a white cross on a red vertical stripe between two red fleurs-de-lis in the middle an inescutcheon parted per fess vert and sable overall a church argent.
The base of the shield (without the inescutcheon) is the coat of arms attributed in the medieval armorials to Lazar Hrebeljanović - Prince Lazar, after whom the city was named.
The coat of arms of Lazarevac represents the mining industry, the mining hammers and the coal-digging wheel.
