Leading Aircraftsman Mohisin Khan, 25, from Ipswich, Suffolk, absented himself from duty on the grounds of conscientious objection.

Leading Aircraftsman Ronald Maddison, from Consett, County Durham, died aged 20 after having droplets of sarin dabbed on to his arm at Porton Down chemical warfare testing facility on Salisbury Plain, Wiltshire, in 1953.
But the judge said the permission would not take effect until May 20, or until such time as Leading Aircraftsman Maddison's family, led by his sister Lilias Craik and her husband John, had had a chance to decide whether or not to oppose his decision.

Leading Aircraftsman Mohsin Khan, 24, was sentenced to seven days' loss of privileges and nine days' loss of pay for going absent without leave from RAF Honington, near Bury St Edmunds, in February and March.
LAC Khan, from Woodbridge, Suffolk, is now challenging that ruling and on Friday told a judge advocate hearing his appeal in Uxbridge that his faith made him think the war was "unjustified".

Fernie, a cook who worked at the mess hall during the exercise, wanted to raise money to help further the research and development for a cure to cancer because he has lost family members to cancer, he said.

The endowment specifies an annual award to engineering students attending the University of Canterbury, particularly overseas engineering students, who are considered “likely in their future lives to promote and foster racial tolerance, co-operation, and understanding, which our son during his lifetime and while a student at the said university earnestly sought”.

On behalf of my Grandfather, Reg Leather, I am trying to find information on the 82 squadron during their time in India during WW2.
Reg was a leading aircraftsman in the 82 squadron and worked on tempest and mosquito fighters.
There seems to be very little information about the squadron during this time and any help would be much appreciated.

A British soldier has lost his appeal of a conviction for going absent without leave after he objected to serving in Iraq based on religious grounds.
The UK High Court ruled Thursday that Mohisin Khan, a leading aircraftsman in the Royal Air Force, was required to show his objections formally, rather than simply stating his opposition to serving.
Khan, a Muslim reservist who was called up prior to the invasion of Iraq, had claimed his rights under the European Convention on Human Rights had been violated.
