		The major complicating factor in researching Leah was that her mother Mary Elizabeth Bell married Aaron M. Shurbutt after Joseph Flippin Slaton died, and the next census entry for the family listed the surname of Joseph Flippin Slaton's children as Shurbutt rather than as Slaton.
