In the county the population was spread out with 26.70% under the age of 18, 8.20% from 18 to 24, 33.00% from 25 to 44, 22.20% from 45 to 64, and 9.80% who were 65 years of age or older.

She was arrested in March and charged by the Leavenworth county attorney for swearing falsely in an application for marriage.
Additionally, the ACLU of Kansas and Western Missouri is involved in the case and are assisting the couple with fighting the charge.
