Lebanon County is a county located in the state of Pennsylvania.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 939 km²; (363 mi²;).
The racial makeup of the county is 94.46% White, 1.29% Black or African American, 0.13% Native American, 0.89% Asian, 0.04% Pacific Islander, 2.26% from other races, and 0.94% from two or more races.

Lebanon is the seat of McKendree College, founded by Methodists in 1828 and one of the oldest colleges in the Mississippi valley.
It was called Lebanon Seminary until 1830, when the present name was adopted in honor of William McKendree (1757-1835), known as the " Father of Western Methodism," a great preacher, and a bishop of the Methodist Church in 1808-1835, who had endowed the college with 480 acres of land.

Its geology is therefore an unchanged continuation of that of Dauphin county eastward (which see already described) except that the Sharp mountain begins to split and open into a coal basin, between two crests, half a mile apart at the Schuylkill county corner.
The breccia of Mt. Ararat, a ridge running 3 miles north of Lebanon, is a remarkable exhibition of limestone strata crushed to fragments by pressure and re-cemented in place.
The pride of Lebanon county is its wonderful mine of magnetic iron ore, containing sulphurets of iron and copper, and encased in decomposed trap, against a south wall of white marble, overlaid by New Red shale, at Cornwall.

The county is comprised of 26 municipalities, each of which has its own independent governing body.
The northern part of the county consists of a series of rather steep hills ranging from 40 to 100 feet above the general level of the valley, 450 to 600 feet above sea level.
The county, sheltered by the Blue Mountains, we all enjoy the mild climate, with the average temperatures in July being 22.5 degrees C, and a January temperature of -2 degrees C. The valley is split by major highways, with the City of Lebanon and many of the small towns located along this highway.
