The first services of the Altus Methodist Church were held in an old school building at 601 N. Lee.

 BNR Metal Pages -- Heathen
Several years after the initial breakup of the band, guitarist Lee Altus and drummer Darren Minter were seen in the German electronic band Die Krupps, with Altus sticking around for several albums in the mid-90's.
Heathen was one of several 80's thrash bands comprising the Bay Area thrash scene of the mid-to-late 80's, along with bands such as Exodus, Vio-lence, Death Angel, and Forbidden, among others.
The band had numerous ties to other San Francisco bands, as James Sanguinetti (Mordred) was a founding member (replaced by Piercy), Paul Baloff (Exodus) briefly replaced David Godfrey on vocals between albums, and Marc Biedermann (Blind Illusion) played bass on their second album.

Holt soldiered on, recruiting Lee Altus (Heathen) on guitar, Paul Bostaph (Slayer, Testament) on drums, and his former guitar tech Rob Dukes on vocals.

 Die Krupps
Formerly a 3-piece, Die Krupps made a bold move in 1993 by adding former Heathen guitarist Lee Altus and drummer Darren Minter, giving their sound a fuller, more metallic edge.
Krupps is one of the biggest steel factories here in Europe and it's a German company and they used to build weapons for the second world war.
We used to use the old Krupps factory logo, which was three rings, and because of legal reasons, we decided to alter it a little bit and put the triangle around it.
