In November 1987, David Lee Fisher was sentenced to death for the 1983 murder of David Wilkey.
Fisher was convicted of conspiracy to kill Wilkey after Bobby Mulligan, the man who actually committed the crime, testified to police that Fisher had agreed to pay him money from the insurance settlement.
Fisher later appealed the judge's decision to let the jury view transcripts of only certain, incriminating portions of the tapes but his appeal was denied.

PHILADELPHIA – Following a five-day trial in federal court, a jury convicted David Lee Fisher of being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition.
Fisher, of Norristown, was found guilty February 26, announced United States Attorney Patrick L. Meehan and Montgomery County District Attorney Bruce Castor.
Under the federal law, because Fisher has two prior felony drug convictions and another for aggravated assault, he is classified as an armed career criminal.
