  Lee M.E. Morin - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Morin matriculated at New York University School of Medicine in 1974, received a Master of Science in Biochemistry in 1978, an M.D. in 1981, and a Ph.D. in Microbiology in 1982.
Morin volunteered to reenter active duty, and was assigned to Administrative Support Unit, Bahrain, as Diving Medical Officer/Flight Surgeon during Operation Desert Storm and during the post-war build-down period.
Morin served on the EVA crew of STS-110 (2002) and has logged over 259 hours in space, including over 14 EVA hours.

Morin explained that while during his spacewalks (moving around in space outside the space shuttle) he was positioned at the tip of the space station's robotic arm while he worked construction.
Morin explained that while in space, he couldn't see the stars because the light was so bright from the sun and the reflection of light from the (white-colored) space station.
Morin was commissioned in 1982, and worked in aviation and undersea medicine until 1996 before NASA selected him as an astronaut candidate.

Lee Morin, a NASA astronaut and current Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Science, Space, and Health in the Bureau of Oceans, Environment and Science, visited Centro Educational 5, a public school in the Federal District town of Taguatinga, May 27.
Morin sat in on a presentation on telescopes, and participated with a group of children as they constructed makeshift telescopes of their own.
Morin was in Brazil this week for consultations with Brazilian officials on Global Positioning System (GPS) technology, but made time in his schedule to talk with students about his life as an astronaut, and particularly his space walk and visit to the International Space Station in 2002.

Lee, the director of golf at Imperial Golf Club, caught Morin briefly with a 30-foot birdie putt — the fifth in his string of sub-par holes — on the 16th hole.
Lee said a bogey on the seventh hole, which gave Morin a three- shot lead, and a par on the eighth hole were his demise.
Morin, who finished with his only bogey of the day, said he was disappointed to see the tournament finish like that.

While Morin rides on the Canadarm2 to stow the first keel pin structure, Ross is off to the Z1 truss area to retrieve a foot platform and position it for use during tomorrow's spacewalk.
